The ABLE-BODIED SEAMAN COURSE is a 40-hour class divided into 12 Modules covering Watchkeeping at the Support Level, Marlinspike Seamanship, Deck Machinery and Ground Tackle, Anchoring and Mooring Procedures, Emergencies, Fire Prevention & Firefighting, Lifesaving Appliances, Care of Survivors and Pollution – topics all covered in current USCG examinations for the Rating.
